Mansion Alcazar
WE INVITE YOU TO DISCOVER THE MANSIÓN ALCÁZAR
Entering Mansion Alcázar is as if one has traveled back in time to a traditional home that reflects the Republic of Ecuador’s architecture from the end of the XIX century. It is in the heart of Cuenca, Ecuador which has been selected as one of the few world cultural heritage cities.
The exquisite interior design, carefully chosen furniture, objects of art, and wonderful crystal chandeliers bring back the ambience of one of the oldest and most beautiful cities in Ecuador.
Yesterday & Today
The “Casa Cordero” presently known as Mansión Alcázar is one of the most precious properties in Cuenca due to its architecture and history.
Construction was completed at the end of the 19th century and its first resident was Enrique Cordero, the first son of the honorable gentleman who was President of the country, Sir Luis Cordero.
It was eventually acquired by Mr. Guillermo Vázquez and later his daughter Miss Rocío Vázquez gave it life by transforming it to a beautiful boutique hotel. Mansión Alcázar remained in renovation and restoration from 1996 until 1999 and opened its doors to the public in 2001.
Nineteen rooms with old-world charm and modern amenities join forces in this beautiful colonial gem and is a much sought-after venue for special events, weddings, formal dinners, and parties.
The jewel of Mansión Alcázar is its lush gardens where you can get away from the hustle bustle of city noise and enjoy an al fresco meal, cup of tea, or an afternoon glass of wine.
The tranquil surroundings and gardens filled with hummingbirds, luscious plants, and flowers, leads one to the newer part of the hotel and its spa. Rejuvenating and relaxing treatments at the spa are provided upon request.
