In this adventurous tour, we combine different activities in which you can challenge yourself while we visit this warm country so rich in culture and biodiversity, We go hiking and biking; rafting and horseback riding and we enjoy the beautiful countryside and its people.

North and West Ecuador Multi-sport (7 Days)

Today we drive to the north-west part of Quito and take the old road to Nono. This takes us up to the high paramo where we get our bikes ready to start the descent to the cloud forest that is on the other side of Pichincha volcano. We ride our mountain bikes for approximately 5 hours until we get to Tandayapa valley where our driver will meet us and take us to the eco-lodge located in beautiful Mindo cloud forest; one of the richest areas of the country.

Early in the morning we wake up with the sound of hundreds of birds, this day we hike in the cloud forest. Here we can see a very rich eco-system, its vegetation typical of this area, and we can identify different species of birds such as the cock of the rocks, the mountain toucan, quetzals, and many humming birds; we can learn with our specialized guides about the flora and fauna of such a wonderful and rich environment.

This morning we journey to a river and embark in our raft before descending 3 and 4 class rapids until we get to "Valle Hermoso" set right in the lowlands. We can see spectacular landscapes of the jungle part of the cloud forest, as many different species of birds  around us. At the end of our exciting river adventure, our driver will be waiting for us to take us to a fine hotel in the area.

We start driving westwards through the tropical weather of the lowlands where the sightseeing is fantastic. We have left the mountains and now everything is flat, with huge banana, african palm, rice, coffee and cocoa farms. People work hard in  agriculture and one of the most important industries for our country is the production of bananas. Later on we arrive at Montecristi where we can see how the local people make the straw Ecuadorian hats (Panama hats); one of the leading regional industries. Late in the afternoon we arrive at Puerto Lopez in the Manabi province where we are ready to relax in our Hotel.

After a good night's sleep in our hotel we are ready to head for the shore. We start our navigation at 09:00 am. and sail for about 40 minutes to dive sites in places like Roca de los Ahorcados, Isla de Salango, Rocas Ballenita, Punta Mala, Punta Piqueros, Horno de Pan, Bajo los Frailes, Punta Machalilla, La Viuda, Islote Sucre, Islote Pedernales, and Bajo de Cantagallo. We  have time for 2 dives in one of these places where we can enjoy the beautiful underwater sightseeing; a mixture of rocks and coral reefs teeming with many different types of fish.

The afternoon will be spent relaxing.

Today we depart at 08:30 am  to "La Isla de la Plata" which is an island located about one and a half hours offshore. Once we arrive in Drake Bay, we can visit places like Punta Escalera, Punta Palo Santo, Punta El Faro, Punta Machete, Roca Honda, El Acuario y Los Islotes. In these areas besides all the rich flora and fauna around the coral reefs we could be lucky and see eagle rays and reef sharks. Whale watching is possible from June to September. We get back in the afternoon.

Early in the morning we drive about one hour to Manta's airport to board a 40 minute flight back to Quito and transfer to your Hotel.

  • Our guests will have excellent equipment for every part of the multi-sport trip such as Gary Fisher or trek bikes for the mountain biking, and Scuba Pro gear for the diving part of the trip.

South and East Ecuador Multi-sport (6 Days)

The tour begins with a wonderful drive south of Quito through the avenue of the volcanoes towards Cotopaxi province. Sightseeing in the paramo (ecosystem of the Andes) is unique in the national park. We drive up to Tambopaxi (3.900m) where We get on our bikes and begin our mountain bike adventure. We will ride our bikes downhill by the foot of the Cotopaxi volcano on to a flat area near Limpiopungo lake. From the lake, we descend to the park museum, then continue until we get to a 400 year-old hacienda where we stay overnight.

In the morning we give you some time to enjoy the wonderful gardens of the Hacienda before we head off towards the Cotopaxi province.

En route will stop at the beautiful Hacienda Alegria. Here we will enjoy a delicious lunch, followed by a great horseback ride! The Hacienda is surrounded by the beauty of the Andes, which are great to explore on horseback.

The tour will take you to see some of the farm land close to the Hacienda, and to spots with great views of the surrounding volcanoes.

At the base of the Tungurahua volcano, we are ready to leave the Andes and start our rafting adventure down to the Amazon rain forest along the Pastaza river. We are going to see beautiful landscapes, birds and big changes in the vegetation. Feel your adrenaline running in 3 and 4 class rapids. In the evening we stay in Puyo in a delightful hotel.

The following morning we start with a tropical breakfast before going down through the jungle watching how fast the climate changes until we feel the humidity of the rainforest. After a 3 hour drive, we reach the Napo river where we begin a new adventure. We embark in kayaks and head downstream through tranquil waters, just enjoying the fantastic sightseeing of the jungle and its flora and fauna until we reach our eco-lodge. After lunch we visit an Indian community and we see the way Quichua people live and prepare their traditional friendship drink (chicha de yuca). You are invited to try the cerbatana (blowpipe) and see how good you might be at hunting in the jungle. After the visit, we walk back to the hotel.

Today we walk into the Amazon rain forest to see primary tropical forests to discover the vegetation, including many medicinal plants, and learn more about the insects that we encounter in the jungle. After a 3 hour walk, we have our lunch and we go tubing or rafting in a very rustic balsa wood craft down the Napo river until we get back to the hotel.

The afternoon will be spent relaxing.

This morning we head back towards Quito. We take our canoes back up to La Punta to meet our driver who will convey us through the Andes, reaching a height of 3.100 m. We will enjoy a wonderful hot bath in the thermal spring waters of Papallacta, well known for their curative powers, after which we will descend by road back to Quito.
